What does your baby do when you put them on their feet?

My son knows how to stand by himself, we've seen him do it a hundred times, but for some reason when we physically try to put him on his feet he literally goes limp, to avoid standing! It's hilarious and frustrating at the same time! I've never seen a baby so scared, and smart , to avoid standing lol. He cries and screams when we grab him from under his armpits and try to stand him up, anyone else have this issue? I'm not worried, I know he will when he's ready and comfortable, just curious!

It depends on whether he feels like standing or not. Sometimes he stands just fine, but others he goes limp and cries.

My guy goes limp and noodley too if I’m holding him under his arms but if I hold him by his hands and let go, he’ll stay standing. It’s a distinction we learned pretty quickly. Try it!

It depends if I’m holding his hand he stands up and can walk abit but if I completely let go he sits on his butt

My daughter will stand on her own most of the time when we stand her up but if she doesn’t want to she will go limp or sit down lol.

My daughter loves to stand, no matter how she gets there.  Trying to get her to take a few steps is a different story... she'll immediately pick both feet up or fall on her butt.

My son can't stand on his own quite yet. He holds on to something when he does stand, but he seems to enjoy it!
