Why don’t I want the flu vaccine in my third trimester again?

And please don’t lead with something about autism. Doc wants me to get it but I don’t know why I need it, really. Seems like it’s possibly ineffective and a pain but otherwise I don’t feel I have that great an excuse.

There aren't any studies that show safety and efficacy of the vaccine during pregnancy. The only study I've seen shows an increase in miscarriage and fetal mortality.

I’ve never had the flu. My daughter who is 11 never had the flu and I pumped with her. I’m in my 3rd trimester and already told my doc I won’t be getting the flu shot this time around either. Honestly I will never get the flu shot 🤷🏾‍♀️

The year of H1N1 it caused miscarriage and stillbirth. The shot is different every year so they can't guarantee it to be safe. Also it's supposed to be quite ineffective this year, as well.

Adding to what the other ladies said that the flu shot is actually the only vaccine documented to still contain mercury which you know we are told to avoid in fish, because it is a neurotoxin. Not that it will cause autism but it can cause neurological issues. The single dose shot has less than 1mg in it but the vial has 25mg so it’s important to ask your doctor whether they have the single dose or the vial that they are pulling from before administering. The vial should be declined even if you aren’t pregnant. :-)

I have always refused a flu shot. I’m pretty sure my doctor has never even mentioned me getting one. I am completely against the flu shot but it’s just my personal opinion. Your body, your baby! I’ve heard many horror stories with the flu shot and I’m not about to risk it! Human bodies were made to fight infections such as cold/flu naturally. Now that doesn’t mean I don’t use Tylenol or something (lol) I’m just saying flu shots have nasty ingredients! Lol. Just my opinion though!

For me, I’ve gotten the flu more often the years I’ve received a flu shot. Maybe it’s just a coincidence or maybe it is actually the vaccine. I definitely won’t get it while pregnant. I believe proper hygiene, limiting your presence near sick people, and staying healthy is a good natural way to be flu free

I’m almost in my 3rd trimester and not getting the flu shot. Baby is due in April. I already had the flu and I’m fine. Baby is healthy as can be! It’s really up to you. It’s not going to damage your baby either way. People like to scare you on here. Doctors also push for the flu shot because they get paid to do so. They also believe it helps keep you and baby safe. You both will be fine and healthy. I’m not going to get the shot at all during pregnancy 🤰🏼. My doctor asked me and I said “nope because I had it already.” Then she left me alone. Some doctors are more pushy.

You DO want the flu vaccine in the third trimester because you are having a winter baby, and you do not want to expose that poor little one to the flu. There are no side-effects from the vaccine, except for some minor soreness in your arm at the injection site. It’s definitely worth it. People who say it causes autism are flat out wrong. People who try to scare you by saying it hasn’t been tested on pregnant women are misleading you as well. This vaccine has been given to pregnant women for decades and if there were any evidence that it was unsafe, it wouldn’t be allowed. It’s true they don’t “test” vaccines on pregnant women, they don’t test anything on pregnant women though! The data that has been collected from all of the pregnant women who gotten the flu vaccine and went on to have perfectly healthy babies is enough to assure you that it’s safe.
