What exactly does percentile measure?

I had my 20 week ultrasound today and he looked great, nice and healthy baby. The US tech told me he weighed 10 ounces which according to my apps is how much he should weigh but she said he’s in the 29th percentile. Is that his height? I’m confused as to what exactly that number includes.

Don’t stress too much about it. I just had my anatomy and baby girl is 11oz. My first was 13oz at 20 weeks. Everything looked great. Congrats on your bundle of joy.

They said my baby girl weighs 11oz and is in the 45th percentile. But it's also so early to go by that. It just means baby is smaller. Don't stress over that though. All babies are different.. especially this early

It means your baby is smaller than the average for that week..

I could be wrong. But when they told me my daughter was in the 62 percentile i asked and the way I understand it basically out of 100 babies: the 100th baby being the longest and heaviest. The 1st baby being the shortest and lightest. Your child is bigger than 28 of those 100 babies and smaller than the rest.
