When is everyone telling?

I want to tell my mom that I am expecting my first child. (5 weeks and 1 day) how ever my husband wants to wait to tell anyone until after our first ultra sound January 12. I know his request is not completely absurd and I should respect and value his opinion. I just want to tell my mom and no one else until our first ultrasound but he says it’s not fair to tell one person and not all the other family. Not trying to sound like I’m whining, just want to know everyone’s opinions. Thank you!

we got extremely excited and told our parents at 5 weeks lol. told my sister right away and my best friends at 6 or so. we did a social media announcement and told my step daughter after our first ultrasound at 8 weeks.

You shouldn't have told him that your going to tell your mom. Men sometimes just do not understand the mom/daughter relationships. Im sure your mom would have kept it a secret.

pregnant with baby #1 😊 my husband and I had planned on just telling immediate family until January  and then we just said family and now we've decided only close friends. we're just so excited! He wanted to post it on social media and tell everyone the day we found out. just praying it sticks!

I told my sister at 4 weeks, but it was actually my husband's idea. My sister and I have always been really really close, and it's my husband's and my first and he could see I was feeling really overwhelmed. We're telling our immediate families after week 8, because I'll need the support if something bad happens anyway. But no one else will know until trimester 2...

If there’s a chance she might spill to someone else, I wouldn’t. My fiancé’s mom surprised him and visited (Iowa from Pennsylvania) when I was 4 weeks and I was bummed I was SO early because it was the only time we’d be able to tell her in  person. I told him we should just tell her anyway but he was like “no, then everyone will know” haha

celebrate your pregnancy is the way you see fit. I couldn't not tell my grandma, she was anxiously waiting. I just didn't want to live with the regret of hiding my child. I know not everyone thinks that way, but I wanted to celebrate it even if something were to happen.
