Taxpayers money to vacation?

Should presidents be allowed a certain number of vacations per year (or a certain budget) and once that number is exceeded have to use the money out of their own pocket to vacation (that includes paying for transportation, protection, food, hotels, etc). At what point does it become unfair for taxpayers to pay for a presidents vacation? Is it ever unfair?

Tax payers shouldn't ever have to pay for a president to go on vacation. They can pay for that themselves, it's not like they can't afford it. I don't know if anyone heard about the Canadian prime minister and his $200K vacation he took with tax payers money but it was pretty ridiculous.... but he's a flake in general so it's not that surprising.

Presidents receive a generous salary, I don’t see why they can’t pay for it themselves.

I'm half and half on this. President's do receive a pretty decent amount of money. I definitely think they should be allowed to take vacations. I think they should cover the majority of expenses themselves, however, I would be okay with them spending tax payer money on security detail.

A certain number per year, and it would be sweet if within a certain amount as well, and then after that perhaps tax payer money for security but with stipulations on that as well so as not to over spend security budgets. Which I’ll be focusing more on security because it’s a big deal.

Cost 140 million dollars.
Obama from 2009-2017: 
28 vacations
217 days
Cost 85 to 96 million dollars. 
Trump from 2017 to current date:
21 vacations
41 days
Cost 147 million dollars. 
I’m just saying. Leaving out their causes and all that bs. The expenditure of Trump is out of fuckin line. He’s not even a year and a half in and that’s what’s been spent. The secret service director has stated that they have “more than 1,000 agents have already hit the federally mandated caps for salary and overtime allowances that were meant to last the entire year.” 42 people require protection under trump. 31 under Obama. Yet the difference in spending is drastically different.

Why should my taxes go towards the presidents vacations?!? My taxes should go towards helping people in this country. The president should have to pay for his own vacations like everyone else. Period.
