The “gay bestie” desire

Have you guys ever heard women say “I need a gay bestie”? (In reference to a male gay man)

I honestly have two feelings when I hear women say that.

1) I feel like they are acting as if a gay male is an accessory that you just pick up and use. (To me the concept is weird)

2) I understand they want someone who thinks from a male perspective just a little bit I don’t feel like actively searching for a man because he happens to be gay is ok.

Maybe I’m just thinking too much but what do you guys think?

(I’m using the word gay just to show what I’ve heard and how it was said. I just needed us all to be on the same page with the reason it’s being used)
