When do you open presents for Christmas

Since we were younger, we’ve always done our family presents on Christmas eve bc we were always visiting a lot of family on Christmas Day and my parents wanted us to be able to enjoy our gifts and hang out and not rush to families house. Now that we’re grown (and my parents are divorced), we’ve kept the tradition of celebration with my Mom on Christmas eve and then my Dad on Christmas (and all the other family). Just wanted to see how others celebrate 🙂 Happy Holidays!

Growing up, all the extended family got together on Christmas Eve and exchanged gifts and then we opened immediate family gifts on Christmas Day.

When I was a kid, and even now, we always go to my grandparents’ house for Christmas Eve and open all of our presents from them and aunts and uncles. Then, when I still believed in Santa, my mom would let me open one present from her back at our house and the rest on Christmas morning.

My family get together for Christmas on Christmas Eve and have a huge dinner and at midnight the kiddies will “go for a walk to look for Santa” and then open the presents together at midnight 💕 it’s been a tradition ever since I was a kid!

I’m from Poland and we open all our gifts on Christmas Eve. I think they do that in some other European countries as well. 
Christmas day isn’t that christmasy here.

I grew up with divorced parents since I was 1 and we always had "Christmas" morning on Christmas Eve with my mom at home, then spent Christmas Day with my dad and my grandma and extended family on his side

We have always opened them on Christmas day. My siblings and I would wake up like 4 am and wake my parents up. I'm sure they were happy they only got 2 hours of sleep! 😂 but, we were just excited when were kids which is why we woke up so early. However, on Christmas Eve, we do open gifts from family members though.
