Sleep training?? Help

Question

My baby is 4 months old and 9 days. He will not sleep in his crib. He will nap in it(short 5-20 min) naps but he has never ever slept longer than 45 min in it. I have been in recliner with him since days after he was born. He gets in our bed sometimes and sleeps well lol. His doctor said to let him cry(breaks my heart) but I need to be back in my bed with my hubby and I want him in his crib. Help! Anyone let them cry?? I'm so sad thinking about it

Try a swing? My son slept in his swing until 6 months then slept with me for about month until I noticed he started to put himself to sleep so at 8 months he started sleeping in his crib with like 20 binkies for when he did wake up and could go back to bed

Both of my kids slept in their cribs, through the night by 2 months. We try to really play with them/engage them during day & evening, then we make sure all needs are met (diaper, nose suctioned if needed, good burps after bottle, etc), then i cuddle them for a while. I put them in crib gently once they are sleepy, but not sleeping. I quietly walk out. They cry for a little bit, then I go back in to reassure them. I pick them up & cuddle them until they are very calm again, and then repeat laying them down gently. Sometimes i would go back in room 4 or 5 times. Eventually they learn, A) mommy has not abandoned me and B) how to fall asleep on their own. I never let them cry if they were screaming, but I did let them cry for 10, or so, minutes before going back into nursery. They both take great day naps, too. Good luck! Love on those babies, & do them the favor of training them!

I agree!! It's so sad. I still think he is young too but since the doctor said that my hubby is all on board and me not as much. I hate him crying. I think 6 months is better time to try and he will be older and maybe not hate it as much

4 months is pretty early for sleep training... have you tried any other things for sleeping? We had a vibrating rocker thing that saved us. We were able to rock him to sleep. 
4 months is hard because the sleep regression stage hits then. I think you should at least wait until 6 months to sleep train because they start solids and won’t need the boob all the time. But do what you gotta do! No judgements if you do sleep train early 😉
