Do you think child birth classes are helpful and worth the time?

Question

First time mom here. But definitely not my first time dealing with kids. I was 13 and 16 when my brother and sister were born. And I was with my mom the whole time and helped raise them. So I know a lot about babies and kids. But this is my first kid, so I wanted opinions on child birth classes. I’ve heard mixed reviews so far. And I’m just trying to make a decision on whether I should go or if it’s a waste of time. TIA.

Not required but def calmed my mind about the unknown and I was able to ask all my questions in a setting where we all had questions. My husband benefited the most because he didn’t know half the stuff the class covered and he was a lot less scared/worried when we finished the class. 
I would really suggest a happiest baby on the block class too. The women’s clinic here did a breastfeeding/happiest baby class and it was well worth it.

I didn’t take any classes (my hospital literally cancelled all the summer classes and the only one offered after that went right through my due date), but I did read Ina May’s Guide to Natural Childbirth as well as The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding (if you’re planning to do that). Both amazing reads. There’s also one called The Birth Partner if you plan on having someone (partner, parent, sibling, etc) in the delivery room with you. It provides a ton of techniques for the birthing partner to use to comfort and support you during your labor and birth.

I think it'll be worth it for my husband, I've been around babies my whole life I was 18 when my youngest brother was born and there is 5 others between us and lots of younger cousins, but the youngest in his family is only a few years younger then him. The hospital I'll be giving birth at does the class for less then 50 (I believe it is 30 for the two of us) and we'll get the tour after.

I didn't take any.  our daughter was born at 41 weeks via uncomplicated vaginal delivery.  active labor 4 hours.  delivery 4 pushes- less then 20 minutes. I had an epidural.  I eat, I pushed when time came.  if u WANT to learn how to meditate, breathe, etc, search them on u tube. and do them along with the videos- for free. instead of paying big money for crowded glasses.
