Which is the best type of birth control?

I have a very irregular period, I have had my period for almost 4 years now and it hasn't changed. I ended my last period on Halloween, and just started today. That is a 47 day window, and I also am a virgin so it's not that I was pregnant or anything. I want to regulate my period with birth control. I have also heard that with periods as irregular as mine it's a sign that I may not be able to have children in the future. I need major help!!!

I highly highly highly do NOT recommend nexplanon. 
I understand everyone is different but I gained 80 pounds (and I work out every single day) i started gaining close to around 10 pounds a week before I stopped gaining , I was getting killer migraines, and was causing severe mood swings. My friend also had this and had the same problems.
On top of the multiple side effects the bar had “bent” to the point it was almost broke in my arm and they had to dig it out for hours. And that was only after having it for 4 months. I wish I would have got a picture of my arm, I now have a scar. 
All birth-control has its side effects so whatever you choose I recommend doing heavy research before inserting it into your body.

Do not take depo!!!! Please please please!
It ruined my entire body! It’s been three years now it caused me to be so irregular and messed up. I became hypothyroid, my platelets dropped, my blood cells enlarged and I blame it all on that damn shot! My blood is finally starting to go back to normal levels. Please don’t take it! It’s poison!

Don't do the depo. It takes your body so long to regulate (or get back to your body's normal) once you're off.
