Should I back off??

My husband is away for training for his job. He is only like 2-3 hours away from me, but it's in a big city and we live in an extremely small town. This is his very first time driving in the city by himself and our first time apart for like 3-4 years. He is gone for like 3 days. I am super worried about him though! He is in his crappy little beater truck because I needed the car to take our animals to the vet tomorrow. I told him he needs to give me updates on when he makes it to and from places that require lots of or risky driving so I know he is safe. I feel like I am being super annoying and overbearing, but I miss him and worry and just want to know he is safe. Is it ok that I am like this or should I just back off??
