how do you entertain your child?

I want to get my 1 year old son a sand box, chalk, playdough, beans, etc, but he literally eats everything!  how do you keep your babies entertained without them eating stuff?

I wouldn't give him any of that stuff until he stops mouthing everything. My son didn't do this much, but tbh he's almost 3 and is still curious about the taste of playdough lol. I've caught him trying to sneak a taste while I'm not looking. 
But yeah... I'd stick with things he couldn't ingest if you think he'd try and eat a lot of it.
