Doctors no longer allowed to induce until 39 weeks??

Question

I got a new doctor and I tried to update her on all of the issues I’ve had this pregnancy and told her the other doctor was monitoring growth because after a certain size they want to induce because I have a history of my babies getting stuck in my pelvic bone when they are halfway out and she told me induction is no longer allowed by regulations until 39 weeks.. My kids were both 36-37 week babies and came out close to 9 pounds so I’m very nervous about this..
Has anyone else heard of this?

You can get induced before ONLY if your health or the baby's health is in danger. Before 39 weeks there's still risk of lungs being under developed. They will only do an elective induction at 39 weeks. If your baby is way too big to deliver they'll typically offer a c section at 39 weeks  instead of inducing at 37 weeks.

my dr has always said she won't induce until 39wks (unless medically necessary). my oldest is 6. she's an older Dr too.

I work labor and delivery. Below 39 weeks they have to have a legit medical reason to induce or they will not do it. You'd have to go into labor on your own or have a medical reason requiring induction. Those regulations came about in the last few years.

I am being induced at 36 weeks (possibly even as early as 34 weeks), but it is for medical issues, not related to size.

No, that’s so close to the due date. But a lot of women are still getting induced around 37 weeks
