Have any of you ever lived in a shelter?

What is it like to be placed in a shelter with your kids? 
Anyone ever experience this?

Yes but the one I stayed at was meant for women only. (domestic violence shelter)  it was small,  locked down & not like the normal shelter. you gotta fo what you gotta do.

Usually if you have younger children depending on the type of shelter it is, they will put you in a room altogether and hopefully your room will have a lock. Most women’s shelters are like this, as for other shelters I am not sure. There may or may not be a bathroom in your room. Make sure to label all of your things and try to keep them in a safe place. Hope this helps.
