Do you have to sterilize baby bottles?

Is this neccessary? Or is the dishwasher okay? If you do have to sterilize do you do it every time, or just before first use? What about pacifiers?

Idk if you have a medela breast pump but they make a bag that you put in the microwave and it steams them. Super convenient when on the go or at work

I really don't know. I would think cleaning properly with soap and hot water would be fine. Even if you didn't own a dishwasher. I mean, my dishes are clean that way. My baby will be sucking on a boob that I cleaned with soap and water without putting in a sterilizer. I half feel it's a way for companies to get money out of you.

I washed all mine by hand and then sterilized them in an electric bottle steamer.

I read that if your water is safe to drink it’s safe to just hand wash or put in dishwasher! Boiling the water and using sterilizers was necessary back in the day, but not anymore for most cities.

I sterilized them when I first got them and I do it every now and then but I think you can go without. If you reeeally want to sterilize, you could always boil the bottles.

It’s recommended to sterilise until baby is 6 months old :) you can get microwave sterilisers, steam sterilisers and tablets you pop into water and make a solution up. It’s all personal preference really
