Moved IUD

About 3 weeks ago I had my iud checked at the clinic but a week later (2 weeks ago) I couldn’t feel the strings, (I know what I’m supposed to feel, I’ve had it for a year and have always checked it) but as I only had it checked the week before I thought I was being silly but this months period has been the worst, I rarely have cramps with my periods but this month its been so painful, I’ve been feeling nauseous, and just generally unwell

Should I treat the iud moving as an emergency and get it looked at when I have the time (not much time with work, college and all the assignments) or is it something that I can make an appointment for a few weeks time?
