Staying hydrated?

My brother just got braces on and he’s sick he’s having difficulty staying hydrated since he’s in pain and doesn’t feel good. I was going to get him someGatorade and pedialyte. Last month he had surgery on his jaw and it was wired shut, the next day he collapsed from being dehydrated so I don’t want that to happen again. Anything else I can get him?

Pedialyte is going to be the best thing for him. Not Gatorade. It isn’t good for you unless you have been exercising/sweating. (From what I’ve been told by doctors— I use to drink it regularly). 
Get him some soup broths, nothing with chunks or noodles, just the broth. When I had my wisdom teeth removed that’s what the doctor suggested. 
Also any soft foods, —pudding, ice cream, things that don’t require chewing and he can just swallow.

Freeze some into ice cubes for him to suck on.

Pedialyte may not taste the best but it will help. (We personally think the orange packets taste the best). You could also make some blended soups really easily if you have an immersion blender. Simmer veggies in chicken broth until tender and then puree. Hope he feels better soon!
