Should we be able to take days off sick for out mental health? (Read the description)
This is including both work, school and college/university.
If we can take days off when we’re physically ill, should we able able to take days off when we’re feeling very depressed, suicidal, anxious, etc?
Obviously I don’t mean taking a day off every time you feel a little anxious, but when it comes to the point where you feel like you can’t leave the house.
I think we should be able to, because our mental health is just as important, if not more important than our physical health. I always took days off school for my mental health because of I left the house I’d have an extreme panic attack on some days. But I had to lie and say I was physically ill, because otherwise I’d get into trouble.
What do you think? Do you have any personal experiences where you needed to take a day off for your mental health?
(I’m aware I typed illnes instead of illness, there wasn’t enough room)
