HE BOUGHT A RING ?!

I found out my boyfriend of 3 years bought an engagement ring when he accidentally mentioned the “new ring payment “ so now that I know I’m soooo exciting and anxious for him to ask me. My parents are leaving for a trip tonight through Xmas and I know 100% he didn’t ask my dad(my mom is NOT good at keeping secrets so she would have told me, and he also mentioned he still wanted to talk to my dad) so needless to say, sadly, I know I won’t be having a Christmas engagement, which I was actually hoping before I found out he even got me a ring. And I know I shouldn’t be upset but literally EVERYONE around us is engaged, married, or has a baby on the way and I’m just feeling a little discouraged and down. Anyone else been in this situation or how do you be patient when it comes to this? Please help before I get sad and gorge myself with Christmas cookies and drink LOTS of spiked eggnog
