“Is this cheating” - UPDATE

So a few days ago, I made a post in here due to a major issue that happened in my relationship and the post accidentally went viral. (Here are some screenshots of the post for those of you who didn’t see it.)

I thought I’d update you all.

So we had a big discussion about it and he absolutely broke down, crying, he was almost sick. I asked him to justify why he did it and he said he didn’t really know, then he finally told me he didn’t want to tell me because he was embarrassed. I made him tell me though because otherwise I was walking out..

The thing was, he downloaded an international dating app so he could talk to woman from other countries so that he knew they COULDNT actually meet up. He told me this and it was true. There were only people from the UK and USA on there (we are Australian.) He then told me he did it because he wanted to feel confident and apparently this helps him.

As I stated above, we’ve been together over 5 years. We started dating when we were 15. He said to me (through tears) that he loves me so much. However he feels like he doesn’t know what it’s like to be single. His friends always talk about it and he has no idea what it’s like so online he could pretend he was single and experience the dating app side of it without the physical act.

I do believe him. I actually do. But I don’t know what to do still. I’ve gone away for a week to clear my head and i am still open to hearing people’s opinions on what they would do in this case.

Do I stay or go?
