*UPDATE* Baby #2 🌈 Positive Pregnancy Test VERY Early

Katerina

Hello! Second time mama here. Our first will be 14 months old beginning of January. We had a miscarriage this October at 7 weeks pregnant (Hcg levels at 6 weeks started out strong at 25,000 and increased to 37,000 but obviously didn't double like they should have, they didn't decrease though either so it was inconclusive; ultrasound 1 week later at 7 weeks and there was no detectable heartbeat and size of baby decreased from my original scan at 6 weeks). I normally have ~40 day cycles so previously you would have to tack on 1.5-2 weeks to the due date when trying to calculate because I would ovulate later than the normal 2 weeks after period like with 28 day cycles. I had one period only before getting pregnant now (started November 22, ended November 28th). Normally if this was a 40 day cycle, my fertile week would have been this week (December 14-19), however tracking CM I ovulated early this month somewhere between December 4-12. I actually started having pregnancy symptoms last week on December 13 and had taken a test because I was sure I was pregnant - It was negative. I wasn't planning on testing again until Christmas Day to have a fun little surprise, but last night going into today December 18 the pregnancy symptoms intensified and were exactly things I had experienced with my previous pregnancies. Sure enough, I tested today because I couldn't wait until next Monday, and it was a big fat positive with a digital clear blue test. Ended up going in and having my Hcg drawn, and it was 17 😳 (most tests don't even read until after 25, I must have had a potent stream this morning 😂). In any case, I will be going in again on Friday to see that the Hcg level increases and eventually once the level reaches 2,000+ my OB will do a scan to make sure everything looks normal. I do have a history of identical twins in the family, so I'm wondering if maybe this would have anything to do with me feeling symptoms almost immediately after conceiving and getting a positive pregnancy test so early on. Fingers crossed this will be a Christmas blessing and we will have a rainbow babe 🤞🏻❤️

*UPDATE*

I went in yesterday 12/21 for the repeat Hcg level, and it was 117! Up from 17 on Monday. All is looking good so far. My OB said we will do a scan once my levels reach 2,000+ to see how everything looks, which I'm hoping will be before January 1 so we can do our announcement on NYE 😁 My OB joked around saying it could be twins (twins do run in my family). I guess we will find out soon enough!! 👶🏼❤️
