And the workup continues...

Jennifer

UPDATE: We met with our RE today for the first time. I had more blood drawn and both an abdominal and transvaginal ultrasound (yipee). lots of follicles on both ovaries

DH gets to send off his next SA for DNA testing. I'll track my ovulation again and go in for a repeat ultrasound the day after I show peak fertility. Based on all that and assuming we still don't get pregnant, then we return to discuss "the plan". Fingers crossed ladies that no "plan" is needed. Come on January '18!!!

PREVIOUS: DH and I have been trying to conceive our first for 7 months now. I turned 35 last month so we elected to start our fertility workup due to age. Last month I had blood work done which was normal . My poor sweet husband got his first exposure to this reproductive process when he got to...ahem....donate a specimen to be tested. His semen analysis showed a normal count but abnormal motility and morphology. This started us down the pathway of male factor infertility. He started taking a reproductive vitamin and I got signed up for an HSG which was thankfully normal. We confirmed his diagnosis -asthenospermia- this month with a repeat analysis, so we have our first appointment with a reproductive endocrinologist next month. Your chances of conceiving can actually go up after an HSG, but this would be the one month I didn't ovulate- the test kit never showed peak fertility, only high fertility and I didn't have my usual right sided ovulation pain- so I'm pretty sure AF is going to show her ugly face on Jan 1st, grumble, grump, grump. All I can ever remember is wanting to be a mama, but I also wanted to marry the right man and didn't happen to find him until my 30s. My friends and family members are all on kid 2 or 3 which gives me a ton of beautiful kiddos to love on, but I want to be more than just aunt Jenny. I want to be Momma. So we'll go see this RE next month and based on their recommendations we'll start down this assisted fertility path. Where are you ladies at in your path?
