Stupid ER staff -long post-

La

So I was having pretty intense pain around my Pic line (an intense Iv type of thing that stays in my arm 24/7 until my pregnancy is over) and did as my dr suggested and went to the er to make sure it was functional still and that I hadn’t developed any blood clots, WELL I get there and I get all checked in and the nurse comes in and is asking me all the usual questions like why am I there why do I have the pic line etc. And so I say I have it for my Sever Hypermesis and he’s like oh so is this your first pregnancy? And as soon as I said yes he decided he knew more about my body, my pain levels and my medical past than I did and REFUSED to check for a clot or do anything more than have the pic nurse come in to check out the function of my line and re dress it. Well I have a pretty nasty allergy to most bandages for it as well as the cleaning stuff so they have to use special bandages and cleaning stuff and make sure to completely wipe off all residue from the cleaning with a saline wipe, but of course as I’m young and this is my first pregnancy I obviously know nothing about my own health and this idiot woman IGNORES everything I have said about my allergies and situation and does what she thinks i need which immediately causes intense burning and blisters to start forming . She won’t listen to me when I tell her to fix it because I’m in serious pain so as soon as I was discharged I had to call my in home nurse and have her meet me at her office to completely fix this botched attempt at medical care!! I am just so pissed off and sick of being ignored and put at risk because medical staff seems to think that being pregnant for the first time makes me incapable of knowing my own body! I mean before this I was literally dying before any medical person took me serious about being extremely sick and throwing up 20+ times a day! I ended up hospitalized for 9 days with constant IV and medication to keep my organs from shutting down only to be told that if I had been listened to from the beginning I could have avoided all of it!
