Can you have pregnancy symptoms before tests detect HCG?

I am 8 DPO, had some spotting at 5-6 DPO and I got a BFN this morning but my breasts are incredibly tender and sore.

Is it possible to have symptoms before my body makes enough HCG to be detected by tests or is it impossible and only pms symptoms?
