I only really wanted to make this poll so share a scary ass thing that just happened to me.

So basically I believe my house has had a ghost in it for years, but I’ve never thought of this ghost as as dangerous or evil. I’ve never had one of those ‘bad’ feelings when something paranormal has happened. I’ve always had the impression the ghost was just ‘playful’, but even so it’s still a little scary when unexplainable things happen.

Anyway, an old friend of mine was just at my house and we was talking about scary things we’ve both experienced in my house over the years. As we’re talking we hear a loud bang from the bedroom next to mine (and nobody else is in my house) but I assume it’s my cat. My house is old so you can hear creaking when you walk, and well, we heard creaking come from that room up to the door of my bedroom. We both went silent and heard shuffling outside of the room and after a few seconds of silence, there is one knock. NOBODY IS IN MY HOUSE BUT US TWO!!!!

So at this point we’re like frozen on the spot, staring at each other. A few seconds go by and I hear the most fucking terrifying noise I’ve never heard. It was like a long drawn out breath, but at the same time a gargling/choking noise, and I’m surprised I didn’t literally shit myself.

After that there was just silence and half an hour later we went out the room and nothing was there.

Like I said at the start, when paranormal things happen I get a little scared but don’t usually get an overly bad feeling from the ghost - but this was totally different. I got a very bad, terrifying feeling from whatever was behind that door.
