Test line darker than control line??

Hi ladies! I have a pretty regular period. It always comes either the day before or the day after than expected. I am now 11 days late on my period and wanted to make sure AF didnt come before I tested. Well I took a test first thing this morning and in the afternoon but in both the test line is darker than the control line. Is this normal? I read around it just means your hormone levels are high. Have any of you ladies had this before and was everything ok? We are so excited!
