Is it tacky to have a baby shower for second child? First child (girl) will be 6 by the time second baby (boy) will be born.

We were told we couldn’t have kids, then got pregnant with our first. We tried and tried for a second, when it didn’t happen we got rid of EVERYTHING. I really want one and am wondering if I should put it on myself or ask my sister or a friend.

Wth?? I've never ever heard someone say it's tacky to have a baby shower for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc child. It's a new life that deserves to be celebrated.

You have a six year gap! I would have expected you to get rid of baby stuff by then, so I think it’s 100% okay to do a shower. Smaller gaps- 2,3,4 years, not as okay in my opinion.

My husband had said something along the lines of “ a baby shower is only acceptable for the first born “ and I turned over and looked at him and said “ well then I guess your sister didn’t get the memo since she’s pregnant with #10 and has had one for each child “ Lmao . He didn’t say noting after that . My sister agreed to throw us or more like ME a baby shower so that I could enjoy having myself surrounded by family . So I think you should do it ! Oh and this is only baby #2 for us :)

I’m having a diaper party for my 2nd when we eventually have one, we are trying for number 2 and my daughter is 11m old. If we do happen to have a boy which I highly doubt it will be a normal shower, but for a girl, all I’ll need is diapers and wipes, bath stuff, lotion, all the small necessities 😊
