Does he love me & can I trust him anymore?

So me & my boyfriend have been together for a year & two months. It is currently December & I just found out he somewhat cheated on me in October. It was at a time where we had broken up for a week & thats when he started to talking to this girl but I never knew. They never exactly dated but they flirted like a lot, as in he said that in the beginning he had a choice between me & her & he regrets his choice choosing me. He said to her that he wanted to cuddle. He was just bashing on me so much like I was never his gf or something? We got back together a week later & i still didn't know but i was suspicious. I let it go for a bit. So 2 months later I figured his twitter password and thats when i seen their convo from October but it said that they haven't talked since me & him got back together? Like did he realize he loved me more or something & cut her off? Or did he just want to take advantage of his week of freedom? Or does he like truly mean what he said to her about me & is just pretending cuz he doesn't wanna hurt me?
