FTM Prenatal Appointment Question

Katie

Considering I've waited this long (so far, 5 weeks) I shouldn't have any problem waiting 5 more days for my first prenatal appointment.. but, I am curious. We found out at 4w+3d that we are pregnant, and had it confirmed at my OB at 4w+6d. When we got it confirmed, they did a urine test to confirm, the nurse talked me through everything about pregnancy, and they drew 6 (I think?) tubes of blood to check for cell count, blood type, HIV, Hep B, Hep C, etc. When I left they set me up for my first "real" pregnancy appointment for 10 weeks, but they never told me exactly what they would be doing at this appointment. I go January 2nd for this 10 week appointment, and my main question is, will I get to hear a heartbeat at this appointment? Least important question: what all will be done, considering this is my first "real" appointment? TIA! PS: If it helps, I won't get my first ultrasound until 20 weeks.
