Bc pills and sex

I’ve been dating my bf for around 8 months and I want to have sex with him but I’m really irrationally afraid of getting pregnant. I know condoms are effective, but I’d really like to get pills too. My mom and I don’t talk about anything to do with sex so I don’t know how to talk to her about this. (Idk if this makes sense but I’m seeing my doctor for my yearly checkup and she usually mentions stuff like this so maybe I’ll ask her about it). Also, I struggle with a little bit of depression/anxiety so would the pills effect me and make everything worse?
