should i sell my prom dress?

i have a STUNNING gunmetal grey prom dress that’s literally been sitting in my closet for nearly 2 years and idk what to do with it. i know for a fact that i’d never wear it to any other occasion ever again because it’s just way too formal and i have no place to wear it to. i haven’t touched it since i went to prom which, again, was near 2 years ago and i’m just getting sick and tired of looking at it every time i go into my closet. it takes up too much space in my closet too. i originally bought this dress for $400 at a boutique but had it altered and the woman who did the alterations said that if i ever wanted to sell or give away this dress, that i should increase the price by $20-$45 because according to her “alterations increase value of the dress itself”. it is a beautiful long, flowy gunmetal grey dress with beads and diamonds surrounding the breast of the dress with a sheer middle cutout. i don’t have pics at the moment but i really mean it when i say this is a gorgeous dress. i’ve gotten SO many compliments on this dress, people even saying that it looks like a wedding dress. i just wanna get it out of my house because it’s only going to catch dust if i don’t. should i sell it? i’m torn :/
