Infant carrier?

Question

Do you have to have a car seat that comes out of the car easily to transport baby around to doctor visits and stuff? Or can you just use a infant carrier? Or even just hold the baby?

I think it's probably a personal preference. I have a car seat that comes out of the car and clicks into a stroller. It's cold where I am and considering car seat safety I don't want to unbundle my little one every time I put him in his seat, I just want to be able to throw a blanket over him when taking the car seat our of the car.

I see women with their babies in carriers at the doctors office all the time. Do what works for you.

Around here at least everyone carries their babies in the car seat when they're little. It's too much of a hassle to hold or wear my son when I'm by myself. His seat is super heavy and it does get hard to carry but overall it's the best option for me. Until he can sit up on his own he'll be carried in the seat.

I prefer holding the baby because taking babies out and putting them back in is just too much work when it’s time to go

We either held her or I wore her.

I went back and forth between all those. If she was asleep I just left her in the infant car seat and took that in. Otherwise if I was by myself I put her in a carrier, but if my husband was with me I just carried her if I didn’t want to deal with the carrier.
