I went to get my hair done. I have black hair shoulder length an wanted to do all over in rose gold color. however the hairstylist told me that would be alot of bleach an it would damage my hair really bad plus the process takes a while cause they would have to make my hair all white before applying the color. I haven't colored my hair in 6yrs so just wondering if they told me the truth?

what level of "rose gold" ? if you want a pastel version. yes  u need to strip it to a white/super pale yellow....... it's really hard on the hair and the upkeep in a pain. unless you'll be planning on keeping it that color for a long time (year +) in my opinion it's not worth it. And remember  if the price isn't over 200 for the 1st time, I wouldn't do it.  You get what you pay for, cheap products  have no conditioning agents so it's harsher on ur hair.

If your hair color is black, it will be very difficult for your hair to absorb any color besides darker ones like brown, purple and blue. If you want to do anything lighter like rose gold, you’ll have to get it bleached and most likely colored multiple times to get the color you desire.

look into wigs. I used to love dying my hair. But now with kids and no time or the time to keep up with my roots. I found wearing wigs gives me the spontaneous little kick I want. plus once you get the hang of wearing them they look just as natural!

Completely true. You need to strip your hair and then add the color you want. Its a process that can take months when done correctly.

Absolutely true. You cant go from dark to light in one shot and you definitely cannot do it without bleach. I don’t know why you think your hair professional would lie to you lol. I went from black to light brown and it took going 3 times to have it stripped and then the 4th times was for an all over colour. It took about 10 months to a year to complete and I had to trim off an inch each time because it was so dead. 
If you are pregnant I would wait until you have given birth to go through such a high chemical process. It’s safe to colour your hair while pregnant but that would be a LOT while growing a baby. I would hold off to be safe.

I wouldn't bleach your hair while pregnant.  The bleach is on your scalp for so long and some of it could get into your blood and to your baby. I wouldn't risk it.
