Friends with benefits

So I’ve been messing around with my ex. We dated for 3 years on and off. And no matter what happens we always go back to each other. I started to catch feelings for him but I’m scared to tell him how I feel because one second I like him the next I don’t. He told me he doesn’t like me but he does stuff that makes me think other wise. Like before he would never kiss me, hangout just me n him with his friend n my friend, holds me close when we have sex and on top of it all he would only worry about him getting his release. Now it’s the other way around it’s all about me. We didn’t start having sex until like nine months ago. He would never text back fast but now he is. I can’t figure out if he likes me or if I should tell him how I feel. It’s a new year so what should I do.
