Boyfriend and his mama

My boyfriend is a huge mamas boy. Whenever we’re out on a date he’ll call his mom or even text her just to see how she’s doing about 2 or 3 timesVice versa, she does his laundry still because he doesn’t know how to, he misses his mom after spending a day with me, or every time something goes wrong the first thing he’ll do is call his mom. I just think he needs to become more independent, we’re both 17 turning 18 soon. Am I wrong for feeling this way ?
