Labor and delivery gowns ?

Any ladies thinking about or have ever gotten a  labor and delivery gown for your birthday experience? With my daughter I didn't like the feeling of wearing something some other woman used. I know the wash them but I just want some thing personal that's mine That I can wear . Do you guys think they are a good idea or practical? Any website recommendations?

Nope!! With everything that happens to/in those gowns I’ll just use the ones they have at the hospital. Once our little girl is delivered and I’m all cleaned up I’ll put on my own clothes. I see no sense in getting blood and goo on an item I’ll likely want to throw away. And they aren’t cheap! I’m good.

There’s soooo much going on during L&D; (think multiple IV’s, needing an epidural if you choose that, your water breaking in the gown, then the process of birth in and of itself) just wear the hospital one. Most people do ☺️ I second getting something loose and comfy for changing into after the baby is born and you’re in recovery. I would do a gown so going to the bathroom, changing your pad/mesh undies or putting a new ice pack in is easier. If you’re not familiar with what happens after birth, they also push on your abdomen every half hour or so to prevent blood clots so I would think a waistband would make that more uncomfortable 🤷🏼‍♀️

I defiantly recommend amazon. I’m gunna wear the hospital gown during birth. Then change as soon as I can out of the gown

Unless something drastic changes, I will be getting one. I want to have a photographer and would prefer wearing something nice without my butt hanging out. I also have severe allergies and have been in the ER multiple times, with a few hospital stays, and I always think putting on the gown is the worst part. I get all grossed out thinking of everything that has been on those gowns. Yes I know they wash them, but I still get grossed out. Plus, those gowns are super uncomfortable! They never fit right and you’re always exposing some type of skin you’d prefer left hidden. If I am in labor for 24 hours I wanna be comfortable.  If that means spending $50 on something I will only wear once, so be it. I’ve spent more on more stupid things.

I bought my own and loved it! Amazon has nice options. Some can be expensive but if you look hard enough they have some that aren't too badly priced. For me it was alot more comfortable and I've had 4 babies. I would suggest getting a big size though because they can run a little small. I had a 10/12 and it wasn't too bad that's about what I normally wear but I wish I had a little more room.

Our hospital gives us new ones. They throw them out afterwards. If anything, I would buy a gown to wear after your done delivering. That’s what I’m thinking about. Or I’ll just wear a comfy tank top and sweats for afterward.

With my first i walked around my room completely naked cause I felt like I was burning up and well I already had like 7 different people come check on me and look at my vjayjay that I just didn't care anymore. When it came time to push I had 5 nurses, two doctors, and my husband all in the room and at that point I just wanted to push so I wasn't paying any attention to who was in the room except that my husband kept cracking jokes the whole time and making everyone laugh.

Nope. I’d much rather wear theirs. They moved us to our room, I showered and put on my ‘perfect 10’ two sizes to big for me sweats and a nice loose tank top. 👌🏻💯
