Pregnancy test and Birth Control Pills

I am currently on the birth control pill. I was supposed to get my period this week but I didn’t, all I got was some drops but that’s it. I took a test this morning and it was negative. I’m on my placebo pills right now and I end them on Sunday. I plan on taking another test Sunday or afterwards if I don’t get my full period but if I’m on the hormonal birth control pills will it affect the results?
