Anyone else a teacher and hate their job?

Question

Going back to work on Monday after having two weeks off for Christmas.
I am 16 weeks pregnant and the amount of anxiety I am experiencing knowing I have to go back is making me sick.  I have almost no interest in what I’m teaching this year (which is pretty much everything: French, English, social studies, religion, art, health and I’m also the special education teacher for the entire school).  I’m so overwhelmed by the amount of things I’m responsible for.  I hate grading and dealing with the behavior and attitude sends me into a panic.
Any other teachers in this position :(

Maybe you need to start looking for a job where you teach just something you’re passionate about. I know my mom taught for 32 years and most of that she had a self contained special ed class all day and loved it. Then they eliminated that and she had to follow her kids around all day to different classes and she also was doing yearbook and something with the Union and it was all too much and she hated it and retired before she was going to. Maybe teaching ap classes would be better if you’re high school. Ya know classes where kids want to learn what you’re teaching. Or you could work to becoming a professor at a college nearby. But seriously you have a thankless hard sometimes awful and smelly job. Kudos!

I started back after maternity leave after Christmas and feel like I’m starting over at the beginning of the year. I’ve taught for 6 years and need a change. If I get one more thing added to my list of things to do, I’m quitting.

Yes! I was pregnant last school year. I loved my job and knew I would go back after giving birth. At the end of the school year, when I was 8 months pregnant, I went through an extremely difficult situation with one of my student’s families and it made me hate my job. 
My daughter ended up having complications so I decided to take the whole year off instead of returning after Christmas break like planned. I will reevaluate in the summer if I am going to return or not. Luckily I am in a position where I don’t need to work.
I don’t feel like teaching is the same anymore and that makes me sad.

I'm a secondary teacher in the UK. felt the same way before I went back this week! I was supposed to be 16 weeks pregnant this week too but I had an MC in November. just think about your maternity leave and perhaps something else you can do like going part time and topping up with private tutoring

omg!! find a job next year that has 1 or 2 preps... i dislike my job in the sense im responsibile for 69 kids to pass their staar test... some kids projected to pass last year cannot this year because they just enter high school and are not the same kids...its very stressful..being a female because we donot get the same respect from the kids like male teachers.. im quitting my job in 15 years as soon as i pay off my house...i will be 38....im just counting down..

I teach hs (13 years) and love my job. I love my kids and what I teach. I ahte hate hate all the other bs. Meetings, standards, electronic plans (which parents have access to), make up work, etc. 
I focus on the teaching and the kids, because thats what I love. I also can’t imagine going anything else- or anything that has the benefits and schedule that I would enjoy. 
If you really hate it , switch jobs while you are young. 
Ps. I used to puke in my trash can daily from 6-22 weeks. It was hell. But it passed.

I'm a preschool childcare teacher. I'm 9w now with horrid nausea vomiting fatigue headaches etc. as much as it sucks going to work around a bunch of screaming 2 year olds with these symptoms I still love my job and love the kids I have.
