Is it true that your first time in labor you poop during it?

i was told that every first time mom poops while giving birth for the first time?

I did 🤷‍♀️ it’s not like a full poop, it’s like a tiny bit and you can’t really help it. Also, let me tell you, you will not care in the slightest and my midwife was so good, just cleaned it up and never said a word. I was marginally aware it happened but I didn’t care. I would literally have shit on my husband’s head if it would have helped.

I gave birth 7 weeks ago today and I did not poop during labor. I’m a first time mom. Some women do and some don’t and it doesn’t matter if it’s your 1st or 3rd

I didn’t, but TMI - I had awful diarrhea the whole day before! 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ so I was pretty cleared out. But it’s totally normal and nothing to be worried or nervous about. Birth staff have seen it ALL!

Not true. Yes it’s normal if it happens, but not every first time Mom poops during labor. I didn’t. My body literally cleared itself out in the 24 hours before labor (I pooped 8 times). There was nothing left by the time I was pushing lol! But I did have a nasty looking hemorrhoid poking out every time I pushed, apparently.

I didn’t I was so constipated but as soon as he was out I went and it felt amazing (1 month with no poo was some kind of hell) but even if I did wouldn’t I’d known or cared your to involved in getting your baby out

Almost every single women does during labour. Some get diarrhea and clear out during early labour, many go during pushing. Most often they just clean you up and never tell you because they don’t want you stressing over it. My doctor said it happens almost 100% of the time but most women never know. No biggie either way, getting the baby out is more important than any poop! :)

It can happen. But it’s not related to being a FTM and it’s not so common that you can expect it to happen to you. But yes, it can happen.
