2 week wait to see if baby is ok

Went for an early scan last week after pregnancy symptoms continued after I thought I miscarried. Scan showed a 5 week old embryo but no way to know yet whether it's the baby I thought I lost 5 weeks ago (which is not alive) or if it's a new, healthy pregnancy. So I have to wait 2 weeks for another scan. Sadly, every day I've got brown or dark red spotting so I'm not feeling too positive. But I'm actually finding the hope the worst part. Not sure how I'll get through the next 2 weeks. Who's been there?
