clomid or no clomid?

i have an appointment with my fertility specialist this week, and want to ask him about taking clomid.

i have had tests done, and the results showed nothing out of the ordinary. he said my body just has trouble ovulating by itself, and my periods are very irregular.

has anyone taken clomid with this type of issue and been successful? or should i ask him about another type of medication?

ps: weve been ttc for about a year. i am 22 (not sure if age matters w/ clomid).
