My first pregnancy failed!

I just turned 36 yrs old in December. It was the day after Thanksgiving that I found out I got pregnant. I've been with my hubby for 10 years and we've been trying for 4 years. Finally, I got pregnant for the first time and we were so happy! Next thing you know during my 8 weeks ultrasound, the tech told me she couldn't see anything and that I'm still too early. It looks like I'm around 6 weeks. How is that possible? I'm sure of the date because I recorded everything. Couple days later, I read the report. It says "non viable gestation". I can't believe it! We were so overjoyed with the good news just to find out several weeks later that its not going to survive and stopped growing? I was so devastated! I couldn't eat, sleep or work.
