Found a house I love but there's a catch...

So my husband and I going to be moving states soon. We're military so we're hoping to move next week but it could be sooner! We finally found a house we love that meets all of our wants and needs as a family. It's the perfect rental price and size. We've been looking for weeks and couldn't find something that met everything but finally did. But of course there's a catch. After looking online there's a sex offender that lives a block and a half away. Now I'm at a crossroads on what to do. On one hand I feel like if I know where and who this person is I can avoid them pretty easily. And I mean anyone can be dangerous at any time so just because I know they are a bad person does that warrant me not living there? And of course the other half of me is saying find a new place it's a sex offender and protect your baby. I'm super torn on what to do. Can I get some input? If I don't take this house I'll have to wait to move and that means more time spent away from my husband and our family separate longer until I can find another place which i dont know how long that could take 😢 helpppp
