Been trying for a year and nothing

Me and my husband has been trying for a year to have a baby. but nothing yet. everytime i think im pregnant and i take a test its negative. My periods are not normal at all, its always been that way for me ever since i started my 1st period. Yesturday i thought i was gonna start my period cus it was lite pink and very little but stop, so now i dont know if i should take a test or wait. i been getting my hopes down and scared to take a test to see a other negative? please i would like some feed back??? does anyo9ne else have the same problem like me?
