Welcome to the world my love!

Calyssa

Born 3 weeks early on January 5th at 6pm via emergency c section! Weighing 6lbs 11oz and 19 3/4in.

Was admitted to the L & D Thursday the 4th when my little girl wouldn't move during an ultrasound. Got hooked up to fluids and Pitocin. My little girl had a 2 vessel cord so we were scheduled to be included on the 6th anyways. She started to move while at the hospital and I wasn't progressing fast so they stopped the pitocin until Friday morning. My water was broken at 7 and the contractions hit hard. I was given my 1st epidural after that ( they did a second one right after because I tested negative with the first, can't remember the details). I went from a 3 to a 6 in an hour. By 9 I noticed that I could feel my contractions so they gave me more pain medicine. The pain stayed. At 11:30 my nurse gave me the 'peanut' to rest between my legs. When she checked me at 13 I was at a 10 and we began pushing. While the whole time I felt everything. We eventually stopped to give me a break because my daughter wasn't dropping. I was given a new and 3rd epidural at 4 hoping that it would stop the pain. It didn't. I was numb from under my boobs to right before my lady bits. And both legs were completely numb. Just not my vagina area....when 5:30 came around (I had been pushing on and off since 12) my doctor came in and told me we would go do a c section since my daughter appeared stuck. We went in and then began and everything was going fine. I was numb Externally so the opening cut I didn't feel but once they got to deeper tissue I was screaming at the top of my lungs. I was eventually put to sleep and my husband was kicked out of the room. One doctor had to put their hand up my vagina and shove my daughter backwards to where they could pull her out. She came out healthy and strong and a little bruised but perfect. I woke up in severe pain but it was all worth it. So happy to have my little girl, even if bringing her into the world was a little rough. ❤
