What causes a kid to act up?

Ladies my daughter is 6 years old and Is in 1st grade. She's been acting up in school and on her school bus. She's been crying, hitting other kids, having melt downs and not doing her work. She also has low thyroid but I'm not sure if that's causing it I'm getting it checked tomorrow.

if talk to her and see what's going on. In many cases it could be something as simple as diet. If she's eating a lot of sugar she can have a sugar rush and be acting up. Parents have to watch out because ketchup, juice, hotdogs, cereal, etc. are all packed with lots of sugars (not naturally) and it can mess with their diet. Another could be she isn't getting enough sleep or exercise to burn off her energy. These also can be signs of bullying or sexual abuse victims but I don't want to worry you. The best solution is just try to talk and understand how she's feeling, as well as feed her healthier food and be on a scedual. At my day care the kids who acted out and did crazy stuff were always the ones who were tired because they had been there the longest and couldn't have a nap or never got a lot of one on one attention. If you can't get anything out of her maybe a school counselor could start meeting her and see what's up or you could take her to a child's therapost.

Try talking to her an see what she says. Tell her that she's not in trouble, but that she needs to tell you what's going on because she's doing things that are bad. There's always a reason, whether it's something she's going through herself or she's mimicking other students. Try explaining why those things are wrong to do too, maybe that'll help her to understand

Is she getting enough sleep? My 4 year old can be really difficult when she’s tired. She needs at least 10 hours a night, but honestly does better with 11.5 or 12!

My brother was allergic to red food dye, and would act up badly when he ate it. My nephew also. As soon as they stopped eating food with red dye, they were better. My brother eventually grew out of it and is fine eating red food dye now. My nephew is only 3 so we'll see with him. Not saying 100% that's what it is for your daughter, but I feel like not a whole lot of people know about it, so might be worth looking into if nothing else is working 🤷
