Pregnancy is beautiful and horrible at the same time
When you get pregnant, there's so much you get to experience that is so wonderful. You get to feel your baby move, and hopefully watch your husband or partner grow into the nurturing father/parent that you can't wait to see in action. You get to see your precious angel on an ultrasound. But theres also so much that is horrible. You get nauseous, and your stomach gets huge and your boobs grow (which if you were already large chested like myself definitely does not feel like a blessing). You gain weight, stretchmarks, back aches, irritability, and you start to waddle around. All of the beautiful clothes you wore before you got pregnant hang in your closet and remind you of the days you had before, of the goals you set and reached in the gym that have now been put on hold and have in many ways moved backwards. And your wonderful husband or partner may have a hard time understanding that. Things are changing for them sure, but their body still feels like it belongs to them. They don't have to go into a doctors office to be poked and prodded and swabbed and have foreign hands in their lady parts. They don't wake up throughout the night to turn over from hip pain. They don't have to look in the mirror and see someone totally different from what they saw a few months ago. That's the beauty in being/becoming a mom. Thats the truth to being a mom. Sacrifice. That is absolutely NOT to say that men do not have to sacrifice things for their children. I am in no way saying that. I have just had an awakening today to just how big of a deal it is to be a mom. What my mom and her mom and her mom and every mom before them has been through to make their beautiful children. It's a magnificent picture of love. It has to be, because without love, none of this would be worth it. Stay strong, see your power, and remind yourself daily of what a warrior you are already for your children. You've got this ladies!!! 👍🏻👍🏻🌈
