Uterine fibroid??

I had an ultrasound on Tuesday and the tech wouldn’t say anything to us. We had our doc appt right after and he said good news was he confirmed there was definitely one baby with a strong heartbeat. But then he said there could be a second but I have a fibroid that when doing an ultrasound it could cause a mirroring affect. Has anyone else had an ultrasound where a uterine fibroid was found and they couldn’t tell if it was twins, did it end up being twins? I don’t go back for another scan until 1/22 and I want to know if I can be scared and excited at the same time about twins or if this is just a single pregnancy. Thanks ladies!
