Confused!

So I tried preseed this cycle hoping to get the results everyone else has. Today AF is supposed to start, but i started off fine, then had some mild cramps on and off and the color of AF was very light and not as heavy. Usually I get AF one day before and it starts off super heavy. I tested tonight with a digital test and it came up not pregnant... could it be too early? Honestly this cycle feels way different then all the others I’ve had for the past 5 months of trying to conceive! Idk what to do, I’m hoping i am pregnant!
