24 Hour Urine Collection?

Today at my 36 Week appt, my blood pressure was high. They checked it 3 times to be sure. Doctor ordered the 24 Hour urine collection to check for protein. Every week I leave a small urine sample that they also check and there has never been any signs of protein in that. Does anyone know if the 24 Hours worth of urine would be any different? Maybe more likely to show protein because it’s a bigger amount?

since your blood pressure is high they wanna check , because if you have protein in your urine you could have preeclampsia. so it’s just a precaution so if you have protein in your urine at all they’ll catch it

Yes a 24hr urine will show more protein than the normal urine sample that we give at the doctor office will and it will show how much do that they can determine if you are about to get preeclampsia. Also make sure your urine stays cold and on ice the whole time till you get it back to the doctor office.
